Tim Stacey is the founder of Stacey Solutions, an award-winning mortgage brokerage serving Solano County, Northern California, and homebuyers statewide. A California-licensed wholesale mortgage broker, Tim specializes in helping first-time buyers and military families navigate VA, FHA, conventional, and jumbo loans.

Named Mortgage Broker of the Year by the National Association of Mortgage Brokers in both 2024 and 2025, Tim has built his business around making mortgages easier to understand.

Education is a major part of that, particularly for veterans and active-duty service members. Every borrower has a different financial situation, and Tim wants clients to understand the strategy behind their mortgage.

Today, Tim uses HeyGen to turn that expertise into personalized videos without spending hours in front of a camera.

Bringing empathy to the mortgage process

Tim understands the importance of mortgage education from personal experience. When he purchased his first home, he doesn't remember ever meeting his loan officer. He ended up with a financial product that didn't serve him and eventually lost the house to foreclosure.

Because of his own experience as a borrower, Tim knows how important clear guidance can be. With HeyGen, he can walk clients through their individual circumstances and mortgage options without recording a new video from scratch each time.

"It's more personalized too," Tim said. "It's more directed to them versus a generic type video."

That's particularly valuable for his work with veterans and active-duty service members.

"A lot of my business is educating and informing people, so I empower them to help them purchase real estate," Tim said. "A lot of my business is with veterans and active duty, so I help and give them all the information that they need so they can feel confident when they are out there shopping."

Keeping borrowers informed without the production burden

Video was already an important part of how Tim communicated with borrowers and the people who referred them. His clients come through real estate agents, financial advisors, CPAs, and past-client referrals, and he uses video to keep everyone informed throughout the loan process.

Tim creates evergreen videos for common milestones and referral partners, while using personalized videos when a borrower's situation requires more specific guidance.

That level of communication helps Tim differentiate himself from other lenders by giving borrowers a clearer understanding of their options and the numbers behind them.

"It helps them be confident when they are out there because they understand the numbers behind it because I was able to walk them through," Tim said. "Or I should say my avatar was able to walk them through."

Before HeyGen, delivering that experience through video required Tim to handle the entire production process himself. He had to get in front of the camera, set up his lighting and background, record, and often do multiple takes. Even a small change could mean recording again.

"It took a lot of time to do those videos and a lot of retakes," Tim said. "Now, I can continuously get better without having to go behind the camera and do the things that are required."

A video that once took Tim around two hours from start to finish can now be produced in under 10 minutes.

"If I wanted to do one video, it would take me two hours from start to finish production-wise. Now, I can do that in less than ten minutes," Tim said. "It's definitely a time saver for me."

With the production burden reduced, Tim can spend more time serving clients while still giving borrowers and referral partners the consistent communication they expect.

Scaling himself beyond one-to-one conversations

Tim's use of HeyGen is already extending beyond his own clients. What once required rounds of calls and emails now takes a few minutes. He sends updates to about 10 clients each week and estimates he saves 10 hours in the process.

"HeyGen lets me scale. I can stay personal with every client and referral partner without adding hours to my day or hiring more staff," Tim said. "Loan updates, milestone check-ins, quick education videos, they all go out consistently now instead of when I happen to find time. More touchpoints, same me, more volume."

When real estate agents see his videos, they frequently ask how he's making them. That has led him to show other professionals how AI video can help them create listing walkthroughs and educational content without traditional production.

"A lot of them don't know where to start," Tim said. "They don't need to spend thousands of dollars on video editors and production teams to create videos when they could do it at scale with HeyGen."

Next, Tim wants to bring more educational content to YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok, extending the same approach he uses with clients to a larger audience.

"Once you get it down, your processes and everything just 10x," Tim said. "It takes a little bit of time to set that up, but once you do it, it's clear sailing from there."
