The process begins by choosing the translation mode that fits your video. HeyGen gives you two paths: Hyper-Realistic Translation for projects where the speaker’s face is clearly visible, and Audio Dubbing when you want to translate the voice without altering the visuals. Picking the right mode upfront helps ensure the best possible result for your footage.
From there, you’ll upload your video, either by adding a file or pasting a link. Higher-quality audio and video will always give you cleaner translations, and your plan determines how long of a video you can process. Once your upload is ready, you’ll see the options available for your project.
Before you translate, you’ll choose between Standard Quality and High Quality. Standard is designed for speed and efficiency. High Quality uses a more advanced model that improves lip sync, timing, and clarity, especially in challenging footage. It takes longer, but it produces the most polished output.

HeyGen automatically groups all translated versions into a single collection so everything stays together. And once they’re done rendering, the Multi-Lingual Player allows viewers to switch between languages from one link, making sharing simple and intuitive.
If you need more control over the final result, Advanced Translate gives you deeper customization. You can refine how the translation behaves, adjust pacing, apply voice enhancement, manage captions, and decide whether you want lip sync enabled. These options help you tailor the final performance to match your video’s tone and structure.
Enterprise users can go even further with Review & Edit. This workspace lets you fine-tune translations line by line, adjust delivery, swap voices, and collaborate with your team to ensure everything sounds exactly the way you want.
