Create your first video

In this lesson, you’ll create a complete video with Video Agent. It takes about five minutes, most of which is spent waiting for the video to render.

Step 1: Open Video Agent

In the menu on the left, click Apps, then click Video Agent. You'll see the "What do you want to create?" page with a prompt box at the top.

The prompt box sits at the top. Example video ideas are below it.

Not sure what to create? Click one of the example ideas below the prompt box, such as Tips & How-To or Course Lesson Video, and Video Agent will fill in a starting prompt for you.

Step 2: Describe your video

Type your idea in the prompt box. A good prompt explains what the video is about, who it is for, and the tone it should convey. For example:

"Create a 30-second explainer for beginners on how to brew pour-over coffee at home. Use a friendly, upbeat tone. Show the three key steps: grinding, blooming, and pouring slowly."

The next lesson, Write prompts that deliver excellent results, includes more examples.

Step 3: Choose your presenter and voice

The bar at the top of the prompt box shows your avatar, voice, and voice language. Click any of them to change it. To learn how to create your own, see Avatars and Voices.

Step 4: Set your options

Click the options button next to the + button. The panel lets you set the avatar, script, video length, orientation, captions, brand system, additional instructions, and attachments.

Step 5: Choose a mode and submit

Click the mode button next to the submit arrow and choose one:

  • Plan asks a few quick questions first, then builds your video. Choose this option when you want more control.
  • Auto-pilot builds the video right away.
