Tim Stacey is the founder of Stacey Solutions, an award-winning mortgage brokerage serving Solano County, Northern California, and homebuyers across the state. A California-licensed wholesale mortgage broker, Tim specialises in helping first-home buyers and military families navigate VA, FHA, conventional and jumbo loans.
Named Mortgage Broker of the Year by the National Association of Mortgage Brokers in both 2024 and 2025, Tim has built his business around making mortgages easier to understand.
Education is a major part of that, particularly for veterans and serving members of the military. Every borrower has a different financial situation, and Tim wants clients to understand the strategy behind their home loan.
Today, Tim uses HeyGen to turn that expertise into personalised videos without spending hours in front of a camera.
Bringing empathy to the home loan process
Tim understands the importance of mortgage education from personal experience. When he bought his first home, he doesn't remember ever meeting his loan officer. He ended up with a financial product that didn't meet his needs and eventually lost the house through foreclosure.
From his own experience as a borrower, Tim knows the value of clear guidance. With HeyGen, he can guide clients through their individual circumstances and home loan options without recording a new video from scratch every time.
"It's more personalised too," Tim said. "It's tailored more directly to them than a generic video."
That's particularly valuable for his work with veterans and serving Australian Defence Force personnel.
"A large part of my business is about educating and informing people, so I give them the knowledge they need to purchase property," Tim said. "A lot of my work is with veterans and active-duty service members, so I support them and provide all the information they need to feel confident when they're looking to buy."
Keeping borrowers informed without the production workload
Video was already an important part of how Tim communicated with borrowers and the people who referred them. His clients come through real estate agents, financial advisers, accountants and referrals from past clients, and he uses video to keep everyone informed throughout the loan process.
Tim creates evergreen videos for common milestones and referral partners, while using personalised videos when a borrower's situation requires more specific guidance.
That level of communication helps Tim stand out from other lenders by giving borrowers a clearer understanding of their options and the figures behind them.
"It helps them feel confident when they're out there because they understand the numbers behind it, as I was able to talk them through it," Tim said. "Or rather, I should say my avatar was able to talk them through it."
Before HeyGen, delivering that experience through video meant Tim had to manage the entire production process himself. He had to get in front of the camera, set up the lighting and background, record and often do multiple takes. Even a minor change could mean recording it all again.
"It took a lot of time to make those videos, with plenty of retakes," Tim said. "Now, I can keep improving without having to get behind the camera and do everything that's required."
A video that used to take Tim about two hours from start to finish can now be produced in under 10 minutes.
"If I wanted to make one video, it would take me two hours from start to finish. Now, I can do that in less than ten minutes," Tim said. "It definitely saves me time."
With the production workload reduced, Tim can spend more time supporting clients while still providing borrowers and referral partners with the consistent communication they expect.
Expanding his reach beyond one-on-one conversations
Tim's use of HeyGen is already extending beyond his own clients. What once required multiple phone calls and emails now takes just a few minutes. He sends updates to around 10 clients each week and estimates that this saves him 10 hours.
"HeyGen lets me scale. I can keep things personal with every client and referral partner without adding hours to my day or hiring more staff," Tim said. "Loan updates, milestone check-ins and quick educational videos all go out consistently now, rather than only when I happen to find the time. More touchpoints, still me, greater volume."
When real estate agents see his videos, they often ask how he makes them. This has led him to show other professionals how AI video can help them create property walkthroughs and educational content without a traditional production process.
"A lot of them don't know where to start," Tim said. "They don't need to spend thousands of dollars on video editors and production teams to create videos when they could do it at scale with HeyGen."
Next, Tim wants to share more educational content on YouTube, Instagram, Facebook and TikTok, bringing the same approach he uses with clients to a broader audience.
"Once you've got it sorted, your processes and everything improve tenfold," Tim said. "It takes a little time to set up, but once you've done that, it's smooth sailing from there."
