Customer Story: How VTM Advertising Scale Video Marketing with Fortune 200 Companies

May 24, 2023

Q1: Can you give a brief introduction of yourself?

Thank you for inviting me to your webinar today. I've been working in advertising and marketing for the past 15 years, even before the rise of the internet and social media. I'm thrilled to be using new AI features in my work. Currently, I work with clients in the real estate, insurance, and restaurant industries, thanks to HeyGen.

Q2: We know you have been using AI for marketing a lot. What brought you to start using HeyGen?

I first heard about Artificial Intelligence back in 2017, but at that time, I couldn't find any practical resources to utilize it. When OpenAI became more public and accessible, I began searching for what I had learned in 2017. That's when I came across HeyGen through a Google search. I was really excited about the AI avatars and your work with AI. So I started using your platform at VTM Advertising, and it has been a great journey for me and my clients.

Q3: You have been using HeyGen for various use cases, not just in advertising but also in real estate. Could you tell us more about how you use HeyGen in your day-to-day content production workflow?

Currently, I'm using the Avatar Lite, but I'm planning to upgrade to the Avatar Pro soon. One of the things I do is find important news articles and updates about advertising. I then use my Avatar to share tips on how people can leverage these features in their businesses. I distribute these videos on platforms like Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn through direct messaging and email.

It has been very successful because people don't realize it's an Avatar and not me. This approach also works well for my wife, who is a real estate broker. We use the same method to provide updates on home purchasing and educate people about insurance through our insurance company. We share these videos via email, social media, and direct messaging.

The possibilities are endless when it comes to using these avatars. They can be applied in any industry.

Q4: How did you produce videos before using HeyGen? Can you tell us a bit about that?

Before using HeyGen, I used to work with a CEO of a Mortgage Bank. We would schedule a time on Saturdays, which was not ideal for me, to record videos at his office or sometimes even at his home. We would spend hours fixing verbal mistakes he made during the recordings, which was time-consuming.

Recently, we ordered an Avatar from HeyGen and are now using it to compile his responses to Google reviews. This has created a stronger connection with our clients. Additionally, he now sends me the content, and I create an Avatar video for him, which has already been edited with his logos and intros. This has reduced production time by around four hours.

Could you elaborate on what you mean by using AI to respond to Google reviews?

Absolutely! Let me show you an example. I'll provide a link in the comments where you can see it.

So what I do is I designed the Google review using Canva, making it visually appealing.

Then, I copy the text of the review and post it on ChatGPT, instructing it to respond in a positive tone and say thank you.

ChatGPT generates the response, and I take that text and input it into HeyGen Custom Avatar Lite.

Now, you have the president of a company responding to Google reviews in video format.

Q5: Can you give us an overview of how you currently produce content, from script writing to distribution, and how AI tools play a role in this process?

Currently, I use long-form content as my starting point.

Over the past two weeks, I've been using ChatGPT Pro to write the scripts. I also use a helpful extension that allows me to generate content at a higher frequency. Once I have the script, I record a 3 to 5-minute video using HeyGen Avatar. Afterward, I download the video and use an app called GetMunch to add colorful captions. Get Munch also separates the video into 30 to 45-second segments, giving me multiple downloads. From one long-form video, I can create 6 to 20 different videos.

Finally, I schedule the videos on Sprout Social to be distributed across various social media platforms. Using AI tools has significantly reduced the time spent on video production. It used to take around 8 hours, but now it's much more efficient.

Let's talk about the audience's reaction to AI-generated videos. Can they tell that the videos are created by AI? How do they respond to these AI-created videos?

To keep things natural, I keep my videos short, around 15 to 30 seconds. Beyond that, people start paying attention to details, such as the voice. Recently, I started a new corporation providing solar energy solutions, and I've already made a sale using my Avatar. The video made me sound like an expert in solar energy, which generated trust and led to a sale worth at least $4000. It's crucial to use short videos for educational purposes and repeatedly send them to create trust with the audience.

When I first started using your product, I created a channel called Davis Cleveland. It was dedicated to sharing positive things about our company. I can share some samples with you. I also have a friend named Sam here in Las Vegas who used to be shy with videos, but now he's become an expert. I'll share his Facebook page, too, so you can get some ideas and see how he consistently uses video.

Q6: Do you have any suggestions or experiences to share with other marketers who are looking to use AI for videos?

Absolutely! I think it's crucial to use an AI avatar like HeyGen to connect with your audience and build relationships. You can use HeyGen in your recruiting messages by putting a different message in each email template you send out. You can also use the same videos in your text messages. When presenting this to your clients, especially those who are busy and frequently rescheduling, you can say, "Let's incorporate AI into your business to eliminate any gaps." I've been using avatars like crazy and have received numerous requests. Using AI and explaining to your clients that it's not here to replace them but to help them connect can be very effective. Mix up the use of avatars, photography, and actual videos of your clients to create a genuine and engaging presence.

How can people follow you on social media or find you elsewhere?

I'm on all social media platforms, but I primarily use LinkedIn. You can find me at Jesse B. Lucero, the founder of BTF Advertising. I offer various solutions, and I'm always happy to respond to people's questions. There's always a solution to everything, and I strive to be that solution. You can also find me on Facebook. I'm thrilled to be part of the HeyGen community.
